Version 1.2 — effective 3 November 2026
1. About these terms
These terms apply to every grooming appointment we carry out. They apply in addition to our Website Terms of Use (document 03). When you book, you agree to them.
Where these terms and the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008 give you different rights, the Act prevails.
2. Our service
We are a mobile grooming service. We come to your address in a fully equipped grooming van, so your dog is groomed at home rather than at a salon.
Grooming hours: Monday to Saturday, 08:00 to 17:00. Closed on Sundays.
Service area: we are based in Sharonlea, Randburg, and cover Northwold, Sundowner, Honeydew, Ruimsig, Clearwater, Krugersdorp, Rant en Dal, Kloofendal, Helderkruin, Wilgeheuwel, Radiokop, Olivedale, Jukskei Park, Douglasdale, Dainfern, Chartwell, Broadacres, Fourways, Lonehill, Beaulieu, Kyalami, Midrand, Randburg, Randpark Ridge, Northcliff, Linden, Blairgowrie, Sandton, Gallo Manor, Morningside, Parkmore, Bryanston, Norwood, Orange Grove, Rosebank, Hyde Park, Hurlingham and Lenasia, plus surrounding areas. We occasionally travel further; ask us before booking if your address is outside this list. Travelling outside the area is at our discretion.
Services: Standard Groom; Full Groom (with a summer cut, winter cut, breed cut, trim and tidy, or a matted shave); and Additional Pampering (teeth cleaning, anal gland expression, deshedding or extra brushing, tick and flea prevention dip, hygiene area trim).
Prices are quoted for your dog, because coat, size and condition change the work involved. The price is confirmed with you before the appointment starts.
3. Booking
You can book through the booking form on doggydos.co.za or by WhatsApp on 079 126 9808.
Submitting the form is a request, not a confirmed appointment. Your appointment is confirmed when we confirm it to you. We will tell you the day and the time window. Please give us a mobile number we can reach on the day, and tell us about anything that affects access — a security estate, a gate code, a boomed area, or a dog that needs to be let out.
Please also tell us, when you book, about anything that could affect the groom: recent illness or surgery, skin conditions, allergies, pregnancy, very old age, a dog that dislikes being handled, or a dog that has bitten.
4. Access on the day
The van needs to park within a reasonable distance of your property, and needs to be able to run its equipment. Please make sure we can reach you — that someone is home, the gate or gate code works, and the dog can be handed over.
If we cannot reach you or the dog when we arrive — nobody is home, a gate or boom does not open, or the dog cannot be handed over — the appointment is treated as a late cancellation under section 10, and the charge described there may apply.
5. Health and behaviour declarations
By booking, you confirm that:
- your dog is in reasonable health for grooming, and you have told us about any condition, medication, injury, surgery, skin problem, allergy or pregnancy that we should know about;
- your dog has not been unwell, and has not been in contact with a contagious condition, in the period before the appointment;
- you have told us if your dog has ever bitten, snapped at or injured a person or another animal, or is difficult to handle;
- the person handing the dog over is entitled to do so.
We do not require proof of vaccination. We do not ask for vaccination records or certificates in order to groom your dog, and a dog without them is not turned away. We do ask that you tell us if your dog has been unwell, or has been in contact with a contagious condition, in the period before the appointment.
We may decline or stop a groom if a dog is unwell, if the condition of the coat or skin makes the service unsafe, or if a dog’s behaviour puts the groomer at risk. If we stop, we will explain why, and you pay only for the work done.
6. Matted coats and shaving
A matted coat cannot always be brushed out. Where the matting is tight against the skin, the kindest and safest option is usually to shave the coat short. Shaving a matted coat can reveal skin that has been irritated or damaged underneath, and the skin may be red or sensitive afterwards. This is a consequence of the matting, not of the groom, and we will tell you before we start if we expect it.
We will not dematt a severely matted dog over a long session, because of the discomfort and stress it causes the dog.
7. Accidents, injuries and veterinary care
Grooming involves sharp tools, water, and a dog that may move unexpectedly. Cuts, nicks and minor irritation can happen even with care, and older dogs, dogs with thin skin, and dogs with health conditions are more at risk.
If your dog is injured or becomes unwell during a groom, we will stop, give first aid, and contact you immediately. If we cannot reach you and the dog needs veterinary care, we will take it to the nearest available vet. Veterinary costs arising from an injury caused by our negligence are for our account; costs arising from a pre-existing condition, or from a condition you did not tell us about, are for yours.
We are not responsible for a dog that escapes, if it was handed to us without a lead or collar and bolts when a door or gate is opened.
8. Payment
Payment is arranged through your booking confirmation. We accept EFT or cash. We do not take card payments.
You may pay when you book, the day before the appointment, or once the groom is complete. We keep the terms flexible to suit our customers, and the arrangement for your appointment is set out in the booking confirmation we send you.
We do not take card details through the website, and the site has no online checkout.
9. Photographs
We photograph our work, and we publish some of those photographs on our website, on Facebook and on Instagram, and we show some on our Google Business Profile. Please tell us if you would rather we did not photograph your dog, or did not publish a photograph, and we will respect that. We will never publish your address, your contact details or your surname with a photograph without your permission.
10. Cancellations and changes
Please tell us as early as you can if you need to cancel or move an appointment, so the slot can be offered to another dog. We ask for at least 12 hours’ notice.
Where an appointment is cancelled with less than 12 hours’ notice, a charge of 75% of the quoted price for that appointment may be applied. Our manager on duty decides whether the charge applies in your case, and will tell you. The same charge may apply where we arrive for the appointment and cannot get access to the property or to the dog, and the appointment has to be cancelled as a result (see section 4).
If we have to cancel — because of weather, a vehicle problem, or illness — we will tell you as soon as we know and rebook you at the next slot that suits you. We do not charge for a cancellation that is ours.
11. Our responsibility for the service
We carry out the service with reasonable care and skill, as section 54 of the Consumer Protection Act requires. If the grooming was not carried out with reasonable care and skill, tell us within a reasonable time and we will put it right, or refund you for the part that was not done properly.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for gross negligence, or limits a right you have under the Consumer Protection Act.
12. Your personal information
We hold your name, contact details, address, your dog’s details and your booking history to deliver the service. Our Privacy Policy (document 01) explains how we handle it, how long we keep it and how to ask us to correct or delete it. You can ask for a copy of what we hold at any time.
13. Terms confirmed by the business
Every commercial term in these conditions was confirmed by Doggy Do’s on 3 November 2026 and is written into the sections above: the cancellation notice period and the 75% charge for a late cancellation (section 10), the same charge where we arrive and cannot get access to the property or the dog (section 4), the payment methods and timing (section 8), and the fact that no proof of vaccination is required (section 5).
14. Complaints
If something went wrong, tell us. Contact Dantin Swanepoel on 079 126 9808 or at bookings@doggydos.co.za with the date of the appointment and what happened, and we will respond.
If we cannot resolve it, you may approach the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (cgso.org.za), or the National Consumer Commission.
